before my very eyes

bean sproutsI SWEAR that when I went out at 7 am, there was only one bean sprout there. It came up a couple days ago. But when I went out at 10 am…there were three! It’s supposed to be almost 100 degrees here today. Yuck! I just can’t help but wonder what else will emerge before the end of the day.

Things that have sprouted already since my planting days, 4/2 – 4/5:
-luscious corn (most of it)
-pak choy (seed from Johnny’s…I borrowed the pack, and I don’t recall the variety)
-spinach (some more old, borrowed seed…unknown)
-red noodle beans
-california giant zinnias
-blue boy bachelor buttons
-autumn beauty sunflowers
-some (large) mystery sprouts where I don’t think I planted anything!
mystery sprout
I think they’re probably a sunflowers that I forgot to write down that I planted. Oops.

There was an odd little hole this morning by the bachelor buttons that have sprouted. I smoothed it over before I thought to take a picture. It’s too far into the bed to be caused by dogs. It was like a finger was poked into the soil at an angle, and then ‘hollowed out’ a bit. Odd.

5 pm : 4 more beans! (but I think I may have my red noodle and kentucky wonder backwards. )

You are using a jukie! (embarassed face) I don’t know how to do that. Another project pour moi.

Looks good, M. Your garden is going to be up in no time. Keep the pics coming!

You can turn them on or off in Wordpress. (I don’t know if you have that option at wordpress.com or other free sites. But there are the ’standard’ emoticons. I think I could slip other ones in though.

I like the pic of the ’supposed’ sunflower. It reminded me of a baby venus flytrap!
